You Are A Giant Magnet!
Think about this for a second…. If you’re worried about getting sick, what happens? You get sick!
If you’re constantly thinking about how much you hate your job, geuss what? You’re going to keep hating your job!
If you worry about your debt, geuss what’s going to show up? More bills!
You might be sitting there thinking “but my debt simply isn’t going to go away if I stop thinking about it” or “I’m not going to lose the weight by wishing it away!”
What I’m saying is that we need to reprogram the way we think. You see your mind can hold only 1 dominant thought and the great thing is that we have the power to control that thought.
So what if instead of seeing the weight you want to lose as “hard work” or “impossible” you focussed on all the great things it was going to enable you to do!
One great tool for helping you achieve this is to make a list of all the ways in which the situation you find yourself in has helped you.
An example of this would be if you’re overweight how has being overweight actually helped you? You might come up with some things like:
- “It helped me find out who my true friends were”
- “it’s helped me realise that I’m never going to let myself get this way again”
- “it’s helped me realise that I need to be a better role model for the people around me”
- “by getting back into my dream body I’m going to be able to inspire many others just like me to do it as well!”
I would recommend compiling a list of at least 20 of these things. What this is going to do is reframe the thoughts in your mind from the negative aspects of your situation to the positives. When you see the positives you'll find more positives, more inspiration, more motivation. If you concentrate on the negatives you’re going to find more reasons why it’s “impossible” or “too hard” and you’re going to find more excuses not to take action!
Make lemonade out of your lemons! (don't drink lemonade if you're trying to lose weight).....
I hope that helps, let me know how you go with your list!
Dedicated to your fitness success,
Jake
