That One Thing!

I don’t know about you but I’ve never heard a quote (from someone credible) saying anything like “sit back, procrastinate, get nothing done and you will be successful in whatever you’re dreaming about…”
There is one thing that’s going to get you closer to where you want to be - no matter what it is you’re trying to achieve… That one thing is ACTION!
Without action – it’s a dream.
The problem is we often talk about or think about taking action but decide that procrastinating would be better instead depsite knowing that it doesn't help. The key to being compelled to take action is to get precisely clear on what it is that you want.
Here’s an example – If you wanted to simply lose a few kilos or “tone up” would you necessarily be compelled to go and immediately do something about it? Possibly, but in my experience not very likely…
On the other hand – if you were getting married on the 22nd of March and wanted to look stunning in the dress you’ve picked out so you could make that day unbelieveably special would you now be compelled? My geuss would be yes!!!
You see the brain works best with pictures so if you can paint a clear picture of exactly what you want to achieve you will greatly increase the chances of you taking action and sticking to it!
GET SPECIFIC!! If you don't know what you're trying to achieve how are you going to achieve it??
The late and great Steven Covey once said something like “no matter what you do, do the one thing!” The one thing meaning the most important thing. Often we get stuck worrying about things like weighing our lettuce leaves to reduce the calories when we haven’t got off our butt to exercise in 6 months. Figure out the most important thing that’s required for you to achieve your goals and DO IT!!!! If it's only one thing then it's clear, to the point and keeps us free from the dreaded "paralysis by analysis" when you have too many things to worry about.
That "one thing" will move you further forward than the next 5 things on the list combined.
